Silent Battles Behind My Eyes

I wake each day with borrowed breath,
A stranger to myself beneath.
Smiles stitched tight like fragile thread,
While storms rage loud inside my head.

They ask me how I’ve been today,
But answers drift and slip away.
I fake a laugh, I play the part,
While shadows sleep inside my heart.

My thoughts grow sharp, my chest feels tight,
I lose the will to choose the fight.
I beg for peace I cannot name,
But every night, it feels the same.

I do not scream, I do not cry—
Just breathe, exist, survive, comply.
A silent war, with no goodbye.
